As the old saying goes, "if these walls could talk", surely the dive bars, all night diners and warehouses across the country would be lined with the ideas of creative people. Along with crafting something from nothing, the best part of being a creative person is the conversation with your colleagues. The freedom to share ideas and our processes. To drive home in the wee hours of the morning feeling totally enlightened or having your sides split from laughter. The show has been happening for years except now, we’ve hooked up the cameras and microphones. The spirit of this podcast is to bring these conversations to you, the listener. To gain an insight into the unique psyche of each guest. The primary focus will be on music but anyone working in a creative medium is eligible. We want to create an environment where an unfiltered, uncensored and unrestrained dialogue can blossom. Topics could range widely between in-depth questions on how/why someone creates their work, what ideas sound and feel like per individual, tour stories, current topics or anything that may come up in the moment.

Fellow citizens of Sonic City Council! We’ve got something different in store for you today! This week’s guest is a true vendor of humor and servant of silliness. It’s comedian and actor Adam Cagley! Along with being tremendously funny, Adam has a wealth of experience in show business. Beginning his acting career at age ten, he has appeared in shows and movies like House, Shameless, Phil of the Future, and Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories among many others. He has shifted his focus from acting to solely focusing on standup comedy. He has become a regular host and feature act at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, California. We talk the craft of comedy, developing jokes the odd similarities that comedians and musicians share and much more. You can catch Adam performing virtually at Flapper’s March 3rd at 7pm for Uncle Clyde’s comedy competition.

Hello Citizens! Today, guitarist Josh Bennett is our guest of honor. Josh has toured with Acidic, is a certified personal trainer and currently teaches at the School Of Rock in Aurora, Colorado. During his tenure on the road, Josh and the band toured with Hinder, Smile Empty Soul, Warped Tour and played overseas apart of the American Music Abroad program. We get into his origin story, life on the road, taking care of your health as a musician and approach to teaching.

Hello Citizens! Today, we are honored to have a true mentor of ours as a guest. Nate Dillon is the performing arts chair and music instructor at Antelope Valley College. He also ran his own independent label No Exit Records, promoted and ran his own shows and the SoCal Punk group Dead Rats. He is the unknown person that keeps DIY music going. Not just in our own hometown scene but people like him across America. We’ll be discussing how he ran his label, his shows and the future of independent music.

Ian takes the life stories, wisdom and essence of his hospice patients and transforms them into songs. He has dubbed the process “Legacy Songwriting”. We discuss how the process began, the knowledge and experience he has gained through this process and the relief music provides for his patients and their families.
